Cubs | Pitching help high on Piniella's wish list

The Chicago Tribune's Phil Rogers reports Chicago Cubs manager Lou Piniella wants to add two starting pitchers to his rotation, out of a list of about six to eight possible additions. That list is believed to be headed by free agents Ted Lilly (Blue Jays), Miguel Batista (Diamondbacks), Vicente Padilla (Rangers) and Japanese lefty Kei Igawa. Gil Meche (Mariners) is another possibility. "I was really impressed with the information we had on these guys at the organizational meetings," Piniella said. "Our guys in the scouting department have done a great job. … Now we just have to go out and get some players."
